    Shirley Rae (White) Bever

    Shirley Rae (White) Bever, age 87 of Sedan, KS passed away on August 8, 2022, at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center of natural causes.  Shirley was born May 7, 1935, to Ray and Gladys (Jellison) White.

    Shirley was raised in and around Sedan, KS.  She graduated from Sedan High School in 1953.  After graduation she worked at the Bell telephone company until her marriage at age 18 to Roland Eugene Bever on October 12th, 1953.  They were married 62 years before Roland’s passing.  Roland and Shirley raised cattle, hogs, one of the best gardens in Chautauqua County and 3 daughters, Janet Ann (Bever) Tuck, Jeanie Sue (Bever) Beason and Judy Marie Bever.

    Besides her husband Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Gladys (Jellison) White, one sister Lea Mae (White) Bever, and two brothers Ralph White and Delbert White.

    Beside her daughters, Shirley is survived by one brother Johnny Lee White of Hamilin Texas, her 8 grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.

    Graveside Services will be held at Moore Prairie Cemetery, August 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Keunsik Lee of the Sedan United Methodist Church officiating.   Memorials are suggested to Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, and Sedan United Methodist Church.

    Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Dickens Family Funeral Home in Sedan.

    She was a loving careing soul and things will not be the same without her.. It was definitely my pleasure to take care of... Im so sorry for your family's loss. She was a very special loving caring woman
