  • Marilyn Gaye (Jones) Zimmerman
    Marilyn G. Zimmerman, age 84, of Sedan, Kansas passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.
    She was born on October 23, 1936 in Conway Springs, Kansas to Jamie Jones and Marie (Love) Jones.  She grew up in Conway Springs, Kansas and graduated from Conway Springs High School.
    On February 20, 1959 she married Bruce D. Zimmerman in Conway Springs, Kansas.  They made their home in numerous places throughout the years, Wellington, Sedan, and Howard. They also owned and operated an antique store for several years.
    Marilyn attended the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches; she enjoyed bowling, horses, antiques, and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
    She is survived by two sons; Stephen Zimmerman and wife Kathy of Sedan, Kansas and Bradley Zimmerman and wife Ronda of Ringwood, Oklahoma; one daughter, Nancy Baker and husband Troy of Stanton, Texas; two sisters, Charlotte Fischer of Leesburg, Virginia and Karen Blubaugh of Goddard, Kansas; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren;
    She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers and one sister.
    Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riley Cemetery east of Sedan, Kansas with Chaplain Keith Springer officiating.
    Family and friends may call on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Dickens Family Funeral Home in Sedan.
    The family has suggested memorials to the American Alzheimer’s Association and those may be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.

    I was saddened to read of Miss Marilyn passing. As a high school kid working summer jobs for Mr. Bruce I remember her being such a kind person. My thoughts and prayers to her friends and family
