    Norma Jean (Cherry) Bays, age 80, of Sedan, Kansas passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Sandpiper Health and Rehab in Wichita, Kansas.

    She was born on May 15, 1940 in Roscoe, Missouri to Oscar Emmons and Ruth O’ Bannon.  She attended school in Roscoe, Missouri.  She worked as a teenager in Missouri, she got married at age 21 and enjoyed singing in local bars. Norma was a Cherokee Indian.

    Norma lived in Missouri for a long time before moving to Peru, Kansas where she lived before moving to Sedan where she lived for several years.  Norma worked at the Sedan Floral as a transplanter.  She later moved in with her daughter in Sedan.

    She enjoyed gardening, crafts, and loved her grandkids, she also loved Jesus and had the gift of prophecy.

    She is survived by four children; Barbara Snider of Sedan, Kansas, John Cornstubble of Sedan, Kansas, Cole Ringo Stewart of Topeka, Kansas, and William Moore of Texas; one brother, David Smith of Missouri, 9 step-children; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; several cousins, Ruby, Ray, Jolene, Lejeania, Dava, and Leslie.

    She was preceded in death by 6 husbands, Bill Moore, Dale Isabelle, John Cornstubble, Ray Blakemore, and Calvin Bays.

    Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
