Wanda Faye (Finney) Riley
Wanda F. Riley, age 82, formerly of Sedan, Kansas passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Ascension St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Wanda was born on May 16, 1938 in Niotaze, Kansas to Clarence Finney and Martha (Hann) Finney. She attended school in Niotaze.
On July 9, 1955 she married Carl Floyd Riley in Niotaze. They made their home in Sedan for many years as Wanda was a housekeeper for several different people for over 45 years. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 7, 2016. Wanda continued living in Sedan until moving to her daughter’s house in November of 2020.
Wanda attended the Chautauqua Baptist Church; she and Carl enjoyed racing cars and raising cattle; she loved going to Montana to visit with her grandsons and great-grandsons; She also loved watching her grandson and great-grandson race.
She is survived by one son; Floyd Riley and companion Mitzi Kennedy of Sedan, Kansas; one daughter, Dorthy Talley and husband Sam of Talala, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Alan Riley and wife Melissa of Florence, Montana, Aaron Riley and companion Angela Austin of Missoula, Montana, Cassie Clark, and Carrie Clark of Sedan, Kansas; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Riley, Brett Riley, Trinity Riley, and Austin Riley; seven brothers, Lyle Finney and wife Suzanne of Idaho, David Finney and wife Janice of Niotaze, Kansas, Roy Finney and wife Carol of Kansas, Melvin Finney and wife Mary of Independence, Kansas, Gary Finney of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Harold Finney and wife Bonnie of Coffeyville, Kansas and Kyle Finney and wife Joyce of Niotaze, Kansas; one sister, Hilta Gorby of Chelsea, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Friends of the Chautauqua County Animal Shelter.
