    Norma L. Knowles, 95, of Cedar Vale passed away, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.

    Norma was born on December 26, 1924 in Hooser, Kansas to Clarence Wesbrook and Edna (Harness) Wesbrook.  She attended a country school before graduating from Cedar Vale High School graduating in the Class of 1942.

    She worked for L.C. Adams in Cedar Vale and at Strother Field during WWII. 

    On November 9, 1947 she married Herbert Knowles in Winfield, Kansas.   They made their home in Grenola and later moved to the Cedar Vale area.  She worked along side Herb farming and ranching until his passing on February 16, 1993. 

    She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cedar Vale, taught Sunday School, youth leader, choir member and member of the UMW; she served on the Cedar Vale Hospital board, Co-op Board, and was a library volunteer.  She provided a second home for her nieces and nephews, especially in the summer.

    She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Wesbrook and and sister, Mildred Smith.

    Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

    The family has suggested memorials to the Cedar Vale Senior Fund and those remembrances may be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
