  • Sedan – Frederick A. “Doc” Westendorff, age 76, of Sedan passed away, Thursday, March 26, 2020 at his home in Sedan.

    Doc was born on February 29, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Alvin A. Westendorff and Lilly I. (Cole) Westendorff.

    Doc spent the first few years in Oklahoma before moving to Arizona where he lived for many years.  Doc enlisted in the United States Army where he served for 2 ½ years before he was honorably discharged.  While in the Army Doc received his GED.

    Doc married Christine Hoglund on January 2, 2004 in Chandler, Arizona.  They moved to Sedan in 2005. Doc worked as a plumber in Arizona and owned several companies before they started C&D Plumbing in Sedan where Doc worked as a plumber for many years until recently retiring.

    Doc was a member of the American Legion and was a 32nd Degree Mason as well as a Shriner.

    Doc is survived by his wife Christine Westendorff of the home in Sedan, Kansas; grandchildren, Kiley David Westendorff and wife Kim of Trinidad, Colorado and Heaven Leigh Westendorff of Wichita, Kansas; one great-granddaughter, Ava Lynn Smith of Wichita, Kansas; half-sister, Deanna L. Reece of Mannford, Oklahoma;  step-daughter, Sandra Lynn Johnson of Coffeyville, Kansas; step-brother, Edward Crugar of Arizona; one special friend (brother) John Williams of Phoenix, Arizona; many other nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by one son, David Westendorff, his sister, Katherine Tatro, and his parents.

    Graveside Services will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
