  • Sedan- Jack King, age 83, of Niotaze, Kansas passed away, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at his home in rural Niotaze, Kansas.

    Jack was born on December 14, 1935 in Verona, Missouri to James E. King and Macie (Cramer) King.  He attended school in Goodman, Missouri.  He later enlisted in the United States Army and served until he was honorably discharged.

    Jack married Gladys White on April 8, 1954 in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  They made their home in Liberal, Kansas.  Jack was an over the road truck driver for 45 years.  He was a teamster and also worked for CF Transportation for over 20 years.  He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys.

    Jack has lived the past 18 years in Niotaze, Kansas.

    Jack was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and Teamsters.  He also enjoyed watching westerns and antique cars.

    He is survived by four sons; Marvin King and wife Rhea of Niotaze, Kansas, Danny King of Wellington, Kansas, Terry King and wife Stacy of Caney, Kansas, and Timmy King and wife Brenda of Canyon, Texas; one daughter, Vickie King of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Reba Martin and husband Dale of Seneca, Missouri; 18 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy King and three brothers and two sisters.

    A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Sedan.  Inurnment will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Kansas.

    The family has suggested memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and those remembrances can be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
