    7 Oct 2018

  • Sedan – Gustava Ann (Chadwell) Jenkins was born on Sept. 16, 1963 in Loma Linda California to Allen and Janet Chadwell. She later moved to Sedan Ks and completed her school there. She married Alan Hull in 1979 and to this union two daughters were born Desiray and Lacie. They later divorced and Gus remarried Anthony Carpenter and to this union a son Anthony and daughter Erica were born.  They later divorced, and she married Chad Jenkins on September 27, 2002 and moved to Arkansas City to where she made her home for the last 13 years before moving to Sedan Kansas three years ago to be closer to her children.

She worked selflessly as a waitress and certified nurse’s aide her whole life. She was a mother, sister, daughter, Aunt froggit, Grandma Gus, cat and dog lover, and friend. She Lived life to the fullest and was willing to help others even at her own expense, sometimes not knowing when to draw the lines. She had a very compassionate and giving heart helping any one in need. She was a hard working woman her whole life and climbed many obstacles continuing to move forward.

She loved to go fishing, could grow an amazing garden, and if it was warm outside you could find her floating in the pool , laying out in the sunshine, or driving around with her windows down and the music up loud. She entered eternal heaven peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

In lieu of flowers, she would want you to leave decent tips to all waitresses that ever serve you.  She knows just how hard they work. She would also want you to get to know your children, spend time with them, live life to the fullest, be around family as many chances as you get, if not, take the chances and make it happen, because in the end time really waits on no one. She would also want you to get to know the lord and forgive your past, this was something she came to terms with at the end of her life and now will be rejoicing in heaven for eternity.

She is survived by her mother; Janet McLaughlin of Jensen Beach, Florida; one son, Anthony Carpenter of Bartlesville Oklahoma; three daughters, Desiray Walker (Nolan) of Sedan Kansas, Lacie Hotchkin of Sedan, Kansas, Erica Boman (Carl) of Bartlesville Oklahoma; four sisters, Kathy Fisher and husband Jef of Jensen Beach Florida, Candise Henry of Crescent City, California, Leora Dye of Twin Peaks California, and Missy Holtzbach and husband Mike of Hesperia California; two brothers, Gary Chadwell of Winfield Kansas, and Jeff Chadwell of Sedan, Kansas; four step brothers Dale and Luck Randall of Dexter Kansas and Justin McLaughlin and wife Tracy of Arkansas City Kansas, and Colbert McLaughlin of Winfield Kansas; 8 grandchildren, two grandchildren on the way and several nieces and nephews.
