  • Sedan – Jack L. Randel, age 79, of Cedar Vale, Kansas, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.

    Jack was born on November 11, 1938 to John R. Randel and N. Floreine (Hendricks) Randel in Cedar Vale, Kansas.  He grew up and in Cedar Vale graduating from Cedar Vale High School.  After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. serving until he was honorably discharged.  After being discharged he received a Master’s Degree from Wichita State University.

    In 1985, he married Tammy Kegerreis in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.  They made their home in Oklahoma for several years before moving to Cedar Vale in 2014.

    Jack worked as a self-employed truck driver for many years before his retirement.  He attended church at the Caney River Cowboy Church in Cedar Vale; Jack also was a licensed pilot for several years; he also enjoyed watching Gunsmoke.

    He is survived by his wife Tammy Randel of the home in Rural Cedar Vale, Kansas; one daughter, Karen Randel-Corn of Wellston, Oklahoma; one brother, Joe Randel of Arkansas City, Kansas.

    He was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Randel and his parents.

    Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Caney River Cowboy Church in Cedar Vale at a later date and inurnment will be held at Round Mound Cemetery, Rural Wauneta, Kansas.
